Flooring Installation

When having a new floor installed make sure you discuss with your salesperson how the installation will be performed. ¬†We have been receiving many phone calls this year and people can’t replace their dishwasher or refrigerator with a new unit because the flooring was installed over the old flooring and this is including companies claiming to do everything correctly. In most cases, the option to remove the old flooring was never offered. But ask yourself what is cheaper, to remove your granite countertop to install a new dishwasher or have it done right in the 1st place and simply remove the old flooring and install the new floor. I bet you would option to remove the old flooring every time when you see the prices next to them. Ex: 300 square foot tile floor removal and disposal-$1,500. Remove granite and hopefully it doesn’t break: $1,000, pay someone to install the dishwasher-$125 plus parts. Granite company to return and reinstall the granite countertop. $1,000. Right there is a $600 swing. But keep in mind that finding a granite shop to perform the task would be impossible because they know it may break when they remove it so you will probably end up replacing the piece, and will it match? Hmm…
